When I was a kid, I remember watching a cheesy commercial that said love has wings. It depicted the image of a half-naked flying kid with a bow and arrow whom I found pretty disgusting at that point of time. After all it was fairies, dressed in impeccable gowns and shining shoes who are supposed to have wings and not some half naked fellow.
It shall appear very strange to if I tell you that what I found difficult to digest as a child became a real truth in my life years later. Otherwise how can you justify someone from Barcelona falling in love with someone from India, that too via a social networking site like Instagram.
Even though both of us shared a common nationality, there was nothing in me that actually made me look like an Indian. Thanks to my Spanish maternal roots, I was regarded as a ‘gora’ by most Indians.
Coming to our story, Ria was every bit a bold and beautiful Indian beauty that always attracted me. I could not help sending her a personal message, though I knew she that she might receive tons of such ‘ oh, you are so gorgeous’ type of messages every day. It looked silly initially, but love makes you do strange things that you had never imagined in your wildest dreams. Surprisingly she replied back. It was the beginning and the rest of it was history.
Come February 2016, we shall be celebrating our 3rd anniversary of meeting each other and I have been researching like a mad scientist about the best possible valentine gifts hamper or valentine day gifts that I can gift her.
It shall be blasphemy to call Ria choosy. She is in fact a very simple girl with simple taste. At times I really hoped that she was a little more demanding. After all had she demanded something I could have bought and parceled it directly to her as valentine day gifts.Every time I asked her what she wanted her answer was ‘me’. While that actually made me feel really loved and ecstatic, it actually made my job of finding the perfect valentine day gifts even more difficult.
I admit, women somehow have an uncanny creative power when it came to choosing gift. I have seen my mother gifting such lovely things to my dad that was not only stunning but also very affordable. Last year Ria has sent me a handmade glass painting and It was more beautiful than words could describe.
This year I have decided to send her a couple’s heart figurine from www.giftalove.com/valentine/valentine-gifts-hamper-591.html as a valentine gifts hamper. It would remind her about me and about the fact that I may be thousands of miles away, but she shall always be the first person in my mind.
